S.I.C.K….or is it awesome? Or is it just “wrong”? Or is it just
challenging our “sacred beliefs”? Or do I not know what the fuck I’m
talking about? (I think I’ll go with that one.)

Yeah, that fucking VW ad with Nick Drake. Also add to that Nike using
Stooges “Search and Destroy” a few years ago. But I guess Iggy’s bank
account was a little better after that (if he owns publishing of Stooges
music.)

It hurts when something is commercialized. It is hard to resist attaching your relationship with the music to whatever object the advertisement is selling.

John Maeda also designed a new shoe:
Timetanium Ventilator

I’d write more but I need to get dressed and get to band practice.

i remember the nick drake / stooges ads were really bugging me. and *then* i saw a volvo ad with two 30-somethings and a dog. soundtrack: minutemen’s “love dance” instrumental thing — but it’s from the same record with the lyrics “fuck advertising commercial psychology / psychological methods to sell should be destroyed…”

i think that one got pulled really quick though.
